Prompts from last Tuesday...

Dear Participants,

I truly hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend.  I wanted to share a little more information about Inlandia's Writing Workshop at the Rowe Branch Library in San Bernardino.

We will meet on the following Tuesdays, from 6-8pm on the following dates:

September 13,      September 27,      October 11,       October 25,       November 8Celebration & Reading = TBA (I hoped we could plan a small celebration and share the work we created!)

For our first meeting, we worked on two writing prompts.  

1. First we closed our eyes and wrote about what we heard (the bingo players at the table on the other side provided us with very lively conversation).  From the overheard snippets and sounds we wrote about things such a very interesting lady with a bible in her car, another woman who committed suicide, a treatise on memory and self, a library room that would soon hold a time-traveler and a laughing very arresting man
2. After sharing and talking about our work, we did another small exercise.  We then wrote about "the end", whatever that end might be.  Here the time traveler appeared, there was a funeral, we went on a mythical trip with a god, to a intriguing individual that had been through an ordeal, and we found out (sadly) that our laughing man was married.

What lovely writing all around!  


So if you missed the last workshop, go ahead and try your hand at our exercises for September 13.  Please bring one or two poems short and up to 5 pages of fiction for September 27, 2016.
